About Grá

Grá is the brand we in Dole Ireland use to set our produce apart. Grá, meaning, of course, to love or have a yearning for, made sense to us because, well, we’re Irish, we love what we do and we pour a whole lot of passion in to our own farms and in to our produce. We developed the brand because we wanted to make it easier for consumers to spot top quality local produce. We think that’s very important.

Growing fresh produce in Ireland can be challenging. In some ways, it’s a vocation. It requires enormous dedication and a real commitment to the cause. Grá growers bring exactly that commitment to Grá produce. Grá growers are fruit and vegetable enthusiasts first and foremost and believe in local first, always.

Because we’re determined that our Grá brand is only applied to the very, very best, only farmers who share our passion for fresh fruit and vegetables and those who bring a pride to their produce work with us. It’s how we set our produce apart.

About Honeycrunch©

Flavoursome, juicy and refreshing, the taste of a Honeycrunch© apple strikes a perfect balance between sweet and tangy. Beautifully round, the Honeycrunch© variety is associated with a two-tone red colour on a cream background. 

The Honey Crunch apple, originally known as Honeycrisp, was first developed in the 1960s at the University of Minnesota. It was bred through traditional cross-pollination techniques, combining the best traits of other apple varieties to create an apple that is crisp, juicy, and sweet with a perfect balance of tartness. Released commercially in the 1990s, the Honey Crunch quickly gained global popularity due to its unique texture and refreshing flavour. Known for its long shelf life and exceptional eating quality, it became a favourite among consumers and growers alike.
